ETCS hitting Europe in 2008
In the next slide you can see some of the more intense
21 windstorms most of which rate as Extra Tropical Cyclones to hit the
UK and Europe over the years from 1998 to 2008, an average of nearly
2 per year.

As you can see this year, 2008 has seen five ETCs hit Europe a number
closely followed by last year with four. They are steered by the jet
